It Started With a Cherokee

Hazard Sky started the way a lot of good garage projects do: we wanted a part nobody made.

Back in 2016, our owner bought a Jeep Cherokee and went looking for a lift. Turns out, nobody made one. The only options floating around were DIY workarounds: parts designed for other vehicles, modified and coaxed into fitting a Cherokee.

We figured the Cherokee deserved better than hand-me-down parts. So Hazard Sky was born with a simple idea: design parts purpose-built for the vehicle they go on, and get more of them into the hands of enthusiasts at a price that doesn't break the bank.

From a Garage to a Machine Shop

We didn't start with a factory. We grew into one, one tool at a time.

• The home garage
  The first Hazard Sky parts were made at home, nights-and-weekends style, for people who needed them.
• Maker spaces
  When the garage got too small, we moved into shared shops with bigger tools and a little more elbow room.
• Waterjet cutting
  Adding our own waterjet was a game changer. No more waiting on someone else's schedule to cut our parts.
• Powder coating in-house
  We brought powder coating under our own roof so we could keep an eye on quality ourselves, start to finish.
• Full facilities
  These days we're a full-on machine shop with CNC equipment, taking parts from raw metal all the way to ready-to-bolt-on.

Why We Do It This Way

Making everything ourselves means nothing ships until we're happy with it. And when we figure out how to make a part better, the very next batch gets the upgrade instead of waiting a year for it.

At heart, we're still the same outfit that started in a garage: enthusiasts building parts we want on our own rigs, for a community that keeps pushing us to make them better. Thanks for being part of it.
